Open lab and workshops

The Data Science Lab welcomes students, staff, and faculty of all disciplines and levels to collaborate on common projects. We host regular workshops and open lab sessions to provide mentorship, hands on exercises and networking opportunities to help you learn and use data science as a way to solve real-world problems.

Fall 2025 open project student showcase

We are excited to announce Fri Nov. 7 at 11:00 a.m. students will present their open project journeys and findings! Be ready to be blown away all while hanging out with participating student clubs and ASU Library staff!

Programming mini workshops

Learn some of the basics of data science in our virtual mini workshops. We will show you how to import data, build models, and interpret results using multiple techniques in the R and Python programming language.

Data Visualization Tableau workshop

The summer 2022 half day virtual workshop, we completed hands-on training in the basics of visualizing data with Tableau, from making charts to composing dashboards. No previous experience required, but you need your own laptop.
