Our Tech Lending program supports creativity, research and hands-on learning by providing the ASU community access to equipment that lets you test new ideas, work on projects and build new skills.
What’s available
Explore the categories below to see items available via Tech Lending!
Please note: Grab-and-go items such as laptop and phone chargers, calculators, headphones and adapters can be checked out at the main information desk of each library location.
How to check out items
Visit the Makerspace on level 3 of Hayden Library during our open hours, and bring your ASU ID! This program is available to current ASU students, staff, faculty and affiliates.
Items are first-come, first-served and cannot be reserved, so we recommend calling ahead or checking in at our front desk to confirm availability. Only one item may be borrowed at a time.
Returning items
Items must be returned with all components directly to the Makerspace by the scheduled due date in your ASU Library account. Email receipts for returns may be requested when returning the item.
If we are closed, the circulation desk on the concourse level of Hayden Library can accept the item. Items may not be returned to any other ASU Library location or outdoor drop-off sites.
What you need to know
Borrowers are responsible for the care of library owned items while in their possession. Library devices are intended for university-related use, in accordance with ASU's Computer, Internet, and Electronic Communications Information Management Policy (ACD 125).
Loan periods
Most items in the Tech Lending program are able to be borrowed for seven days. Specific due dates and return procedures are confirmed upon check out.
Renewals
To allow items to circulate throughout the community, renewals are not available for any items at this time.
Fines and fees
Fines may be charged to repair or replace damaged equipment, and will be assessed once the item has been returned.
Items are subject to late fees. Please refer to our overdues, fines and fees policy for more information.
Replacement costs
We have a large variety of items. Please see an item's information page for specific details and replacement costs.
